Admission Notice — Ph.D. (Economics) October Cycle, 2026

Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D. (Economics) — October Cycle, 2026. Interested candidates must submit the duly filled application form online and submit its hard copy along with a research proposal (2500–3000 words) and self-attested documents to the Principal, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector-26, Chandigarh-160019 (by hand / registered / speed post) on or before 10th October, 2026 by 4:00 p.m. In addition, email a soft copy of the complete application along with the research proposal to economics@sggscollege.ac.in.

Student Notice — BA Semester 5 — Evaluation & Viva-Voce (2026-27) — Internship / Community Outreach Programme

All students of BA Semester 5 are hereby informed that the Evaluation and Viva-Voce of the Internship Programme / Community Outreach Programme will be conducted from October 05, 2026 to October 15, 2026. All students are required to appear for the evaluation and viva-voce.

Students must bring the following documents on the day of their evaluation:
• Two properly compiled Internship / Community Outreach Programme Reports (one copy to be submitted to the college)
• Certificate of Completion/Participation from the concerned organization/institution
• Internship/Community Outreach Activity Log Book
• Photographs or other documentary evidence of activities undertaken.

All students are advised to complete their reports and documentation well in advance and ensure that they are fully prepared for the evaluation and viva-voce.

Categories: meritorious students (90%+ or University merit position), wards of members of the Sikh Educational Society, differently abled students, siblings, girl students from rural areas (Science stream), NSS / NCC / cultural activity participants, students of SGGS Collegiate Public School, wards of deceased parents, economically weaker sections (annual income below ₹2 lakh) and visually impaired / physically disabled students sponsored by College Alumni.
Documents required: copy of fee receipt or ID card, mark sheets of lower classes, a passport-size photograph and documentary evidence for the category applied for.

Who can apply: (i) students who could not clear this compulsory paper and whose degree is still pending (Semester / Annual System); (ii) students who could not appear in, or could not qualify, the paper held on 10 June 2026 — all such students must apply afresh.

Instructions — ONLINE EVS Examination through Google Form — 9 September 2026

Office of the Controller of Examinations, Panjab University (No. 19302/CE, dated 21.08.2026). Complete instructions for the online paper of Environment, Road Safety Education, Violence against Women / Children and Drug Abuse.
Key points: the paper will be held online through Google Form only; class-wise links will be available on the day of examination at evs.puexam.in; students must click only the link specified for their own class, otherwise the submission will be rejected; 100 questions in 120 minutes; sign in using your own Gmail account (multiple submissions from one account will not be evaluated); the paper is available in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
Once submitted, the form cannot be edited. The form keeps accepting responses for 60 minutes after the exam ends. Students must take a screenshot of the confirmation screen and keep it till the result is declared. Attempt the paper from a place with uninterrupted internet connectivity.

Covers the two internship categories — Internship for Enhancing Employability (IEE) and Internship for Developing Research Aptitude (IDRA) — credits & hours, allotment of supervisors and mentors, evaluation criteria and Appendix I–VI (Activity Logbook, Mentor Feedback formats, Internship Completion Certificates and Record of Internship).

College letter addressed to the Internship Providing Organisation, along with the Student Internship Registration cum Approval Form for Session 2026-27. The form records the student’s details, the host organisation, the mentor and the duration of the internship, together with the student declaration and supervisor approval fields.
