BBA I 3 - Year (NEP) 80 + 40* (*Subject to PU Approval)

A candidate who has passed one of the following examinations with English as one of the subjects:

(i) +2 examination securing at least 50% marks in aggregate;

(ii) Any other examination recognised by the University as equivalent to (i) above with requisite percentage of marks.

However, a person who has not qualified English as one of the subjects at the +2 examination, shall be eligible to join BBA / BBA (Hons) 1st Semester provisionally subject to his / her qualifying the deficient subject of English from the parent Board / Body / Council / University in two consecutive chances subsequent to his / her admission, failing which his / her admission to BBA (Hons) 1st Semester and the result for the examination shall automatically stand cancelled.

BBA II / III 3 - Year (NEP) A student who has passed BBA I / II from PU Chandigarh or from any other University recognised by PU with same subjects / scheme of the prescribed course or shall have to pass the deficient subjects, subject to the availability of seats.
BBA Honours (4 Years) & BBA Honours with Research (4 Years) 4 - Year Note: 4th Year of all Courses — Honours & Honours with Research will be subject to approval by Panjab University.
General admission rules — Admission to all classes is made strictly as per eligibility and merit criteria laid down by Panjab University depending on available seats. Fraction of marks less than the requisite percentage will not be rounded off in the candidate's favour. For details, refer to Panjab University Admission Guidelines 2026-27 (www.puchd.ac.in).

Core Subjects

Indicative — The list below reflects the broad areas covered under NEP. The tables are subject to change, as the latest syllabus for the academic year 2026–27 has not yet been released by Panjab University. For the current semester-wise syllabus, please consult the latest Prospectus or Panjab University's official BBA syllabus.

Compulsory Subjects

  • Discipline Specific Courses (DSC): Compulsory core subjects.
  • Multidisciplinary Course (MDC / IDC): Student is required to select 01 subject from the MDC / IDC options.
  • Skill Enhancement Course (SEC): Student is required to select 01 subject from the SEC options.
  • Value Added Course (VAC): Student is required to select 01 subject from the VAC options.
  • Ability Enhancement Course (AEC): English.
  • Punjabi or History & Culture of Punjab: Students who are not domiciled in Punjab and have not passed Punjabi up to class 10th / 12th can opt HCP in place of Punjabi.
  • Internship: Students are required to undertake Internships in approved organisations / institutions to enhance employability skills or research aptitude.

MDC / IDC, SEC & VAC — BBA

  • MDC / IDC (3 credit): MDC-1 — Commercial Law (Sem I), Business Law (Sem II), Company Law (Sem III); MDC-2 — Fundamentals of International Business (Sem I), Foreign Trade Promotion (Sem II), Foreign Trade Procedure & Documentation (Sem III).
  • SEC (3 credit): Digital Marketing (Sem I), E-Commerce (Sem II), Personality Development & Professional Skills (Sem III).
  • VAC (2 credit): Environment Science (Sem I), Right to Information & Human Rights (Sem II), Issues in Indian Commerce (Sem IV), Introduction to Consumer Law and Practice (Sem V).

Duration

Three years (six semesters) under Panjab University's NEP curriculum, with an optional fourth year for Honours and Honours with Research tracks — subject to approval by Panjab University.

Eligibility

Pass in +2 with English as one of the subjects and at least 50% marks in aggregate. Provisional admission is permitted for those without English at +2, subject to clearing the deficient English subject in two consecutive chances (see the table above for full conditions).

Career Opportunities

BBA graduates typically go on to MBA programmes or directly enter careers in sales, marketing, HR, operations, banking, financial services, and family businesses. The programme is also a strong base for aspiring entrepreneurs.
